You Know You Haven't Blogged In A Long Time When...

... when junk posts that you get paid $10 a pop for are the main content of your home page. *sigh*

Who has time to blog??

My down time is spent crawling in circles around the living room, growling with Gavin in Max or laying on Gavin's bedroom floor coloring with every color in the crayon box in the order the Gavin deems best. This week my down time has also been spent planting little seedlings for my 5-gallon-bucket-garden. I planted my zucchini too early, but I'm hoping to keep them indoors at night for the next month and maybe get early spring fruit from them instead of waiting until August to get squash. If that fails then I have more seeds and they grow fast..

It's been awe inspiring watching them grow. One day it's bare dirt in my little planter, the next there are littl green bumps trying to escape the dirt and before that day is out there's a beautiful, fresh little leaf reaching for the sunlight. I wonder if our lives move that quickly in God's eyes. I wonder if He is so infatuated with our growth that He can't tear His eyes away from us and sits just watching us. I wonder if "His mercies are new every morning" is anything like my carrying my trays to the sink every morning when I first get up to give my little babies a drink of cold, fresh water.

Gavin is ... well... growing up. It hurts our hearts to watch time slip away, but it makes us so proud to watch him progress. He's such a stoic, bravehearted, quiet little person that sometimes I wonder at the fact that he's only 19 months. On Saturday evening he closed a folding door on his pinky and the entire flat of his finger was pinched into a massive, black blister. He only cried for about 90 seconds, then he made me kiss it and kept trying to rub the bump off. Within 5 minutes he was ignoring it except for when he tried to pick things up, then he'd try to wipe it off again and go on with life.

He's stronger than I am.

A couple hours earlier I gave him a plastic cup with about 20 M'n'M's in it and set him in his chair for a VeggieTales. He ate one at a time and they lasted him the whole movie. He didn't drop any. He didn't eat two at once. He didn't grab them all and make them melt in his little fists. He picked up one candy, ate it, then picked up the next when his mouth was empty. He doesn't get that from me.

He's more disciplined than I am.

At his cousin Della's house he had a container of goldfish and Della wanted some, so she ate some. He didn't fuss- he pulled two out, put one in his mouth and then fed the other to Della. I wouldn't have shared *my* goldfish. I love goldfish. I would have eaten them faster to make sure there weren't any left for her to steal.

He's kinder than I am.

"Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."

I don't see his daddy's family when I look at him, but then some pictures are *SO* Eli, or *SO* Nick that I'm  shocked!

Quinn is, as always, working hard, and still our favorite person in the world. Gavin has been clingy with me and not wanting anyone else to hold him lately, but he won't go to sleep without Daddy coming in to make his bed, tuck him in with his Bentley Bear and pray with him. Gavin still "hovers" around Quinn. If Quinn is on the computer or sitting on the couch then Gavin will bring his toys or books and sit close to him, even if it means sitting under the table.

I'm on a pretty hard-core diet/workout plan right now and I'm loving it. I feel so healthy and energetic and I get so much more done with my days!  I'm on a 1300 calorie a day budget and I'm working out *almost* everyday. In the last 9 days I've worked out 7 times. Saturday night I got to take my routine from 30 to 40 minutes and I felt awesome! I was so proud of myself!

Yesterday was Rachel's birthday party. She's 17. I blew my diet. Not horribly, but I probably ate close to 2,000 calories than 1300. *sigh*.  I don't weight any more today than I did yesterday morning, though, so I think I survived. Whoop whoop!

I quite my evaluation job and now I'm helping Quinn by doing some random SEO work. One thing I did this week was to make a short YouTube review of a product then write an article that I linked it too. I was pretty happy with it, even though it was cheesy and LQ. Here's the link if you're interested: http://wizzley.com/tide-pods-the-most-exciting-new-laundry-product/.  I'm honestly excited about the product I was writing about, which made this particular project a lot more fun.

And that's life right now. My green yard is thoroughly speckled with purple clover and I'm praying my husband can find time to fix our lawn mower this week so that I can get it mown. For now I'll pick up the loads of twigs that the winter knocked out of our trees, dig holes for my garden buckets and move our little brush pile up to the side of the house so that we can load it next time we have the trailer here. I'm looking forward to having a beautiful yard this summer.
