Our Mitsubishi

This spring we got to upgrade our car dramatically from our 1992 4-door Mazda 626 to a gorgeous, tricked out, 4 wheel drive, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero. We absolutely love our car. It's got a blue book value well over $8k, so we decided we would invest in full coverage auto insurance. We did some shopping around,  looking for discount auto insurance, but ended up sticking with the insurance agency that Quinn has been with for the last 8 years. He had an established record there and knew his agent would be more than willing to help him find the most affordable car insurance available.

It still feels a little odd, driving a car that would be repaired no matter what kind of accident happened to it, but it's fun. It makes us feel just a little bit richer, which helps us work harder to reach those income/savings goals that we feel we should be accomplishing. God gives so much, and we want so badly to be good stewards of each and every gift, and using tools to get free auto policy quotes and find the best possible deals is one of the ways that we feel we ought to be careful with what He has provided.

Sick Husband, Cranky Baby... Beautiful Morning!!

Quinn is STILL sick. In fact, he's not STILL sick, he's worse sick.

He went camping this week. He, his best friend and my older brother went out to Mark Twain and hiked 9 miles in. He didn't eat breakfast, and he fought with this respiratory infection the whole way, but he made it. The next day they took a different trail to get out, and it was only 7 miles. He got home last night and his cough had moved into his chest and he was running a low grade fever. I'm trying to convince him to go to the dr for an antibiotics prescription- we'll see if he does.

Gavin is awake an hour too early and is unbearably cranky. I'm about to put him back in bed, but I'm waiting until he thinks he's tired...if I last that long. It was a chain reaction- he went to bed to early last night, then I didn't wake him up to eat at 11, so he woke up at 3, so he slept past his 6 o'clock feeding and woke up at 7 instead, which meant that his room was light and he was convinced it was time to be up even though he doesn't get up until after 8. sheesh. Does that make any sense?

I've just about got my latest skirt order finished. I'm happy with it,. and due to the fact that the order was from someone I know personally I've already received payment, which is awesome. It's all finished except for one color of embroidery floss that needs to be added to the vinework. This week's budget is down to the dollar, but I've got a friend coming from Australia to visit my family, so I needed a few extra dollars to put together a girls' luncheon here at my place while she's here, and this order has provided that! Or rather, Christ knew when I would need the extra $ and He provided the order... :D

I'm annoyed with Etsy- though it isn't their fault that their members are flakes. I've received 2 orders through them- but one of them never actually sent me measurements, just her preferences and address, then I never heard back from her. The other sent preferences and measurements, and when I sent her a pic confirming that the skirt was done, she never got back to me. So I have a 12 hour/hundred dollar skirt sitting on my hope chest, wrapped in tissue paper, with no owner.

The skies are beautiful this morning. Clear, blue, bright... and the leaves are all rustling like there's a perfect amount of breeze. I can't wait to get outside and enjoy it!

Here are a few new pics- Quinn broke my heart last night by pointing out that it's only 12 weeks until our little man is 1 year old. He was slightly off, it's actually 14 weeks, but the point is that it's only 3 months. *sigh* What a fast year it has been...
