Oh boy.

I've always blogged more than Quinn.

At least, "always" since 2003 when we each got our first blogs. We were on LiveSpace at that point. All the kids from our church had spaces and we'd all watch for the little stars to show up next to our friends' names on our MSN chat windows.

I knew that if Quinn had updated twice since my last post that I was falling way short of my typical quota.

It still holds true.

He's updated at least four times since my last post.

--------------------

Not that there's that much to update. We only had Quinn's best friend get married, our first anniversary, moved to a new apartment, found out that two of my sisters in law are expecting (MEGA UBER CONGRATS to Josh and Tyana -due in March- and Aaron and Jenna -due in January-!!)  had out of town guests and a baby shower and are 18 days from our due date... so really there's no news.

-------------------

This morning was my 37.5 week appointment. Recently Quinn switched his off days from Tuesday to Monday, so I had to change my appointment plan in order to make sure he could be there for them. Dr. M isn't in the office on Mondays though, so we just switched to morning appointments since Quinn doesn't go in until noon. Most of them have been between 9 and 9:30 am, so Quinn lets me sleep 'til 8:30, I get up and get ready and we get out the door.

This has made the whole pee-in-a-cup routine a bit tricky, since it's gotten tangled up with my get-up-brush-my-teeth-empty-my-bladder routine. Last week we got there and I realized that it had been less than twenty minutes since I'd used the bathroom, so I grabbed a mountain dew from the pharmacy and drank as much of it as I could stomach over the next 10 minutes. It barely worked, though I was desperate for the bathroom by the time the appointment was over.

This week my appointment was for 10:20, and I woke up around 8, so I was careful to make sure I had a steady intake of fluids and that I didn't go near the bathroom once we hit 9:20. I bought a bottle of water when I got there and sat down in the waiting room and proceeded to drink 70% of it in 10 minutes.

It took them an entire HOUR to get me into my appointment.

For those of you who think 6 pound babies are helplessly weak, try having one sit on and punch your bladder a couple times...

So anyway, I'm progressing a little faster than normal people, which means that I might end up with an early August baby instead of the late August baby I've been planning on. This is a very happy thing, considering the fact that me and my siblings have all been 41-42 week pregnancies and 8.5-9.5 pounds. My little sisters can rejoice in the fact that I'm ahead of Mom's normal schedule.

But I'd really rather wait another week or two, if sweet Gavin doesn't mind...

If for no other reason that to make it to the 30th so we have a paycheck to blow on a gazillion dollars worth of diapers, wipes, powder, diaper cream, a play pen and etc.

And so I can get my last couple boxes unpacked and the house cleaned up.

In the mean time, Quinn's at work, we're having sandwiches for lunch, (thus, no prep work) my washer is chugging away, (such a lovely thing to have my washer and dryer here in the airconditioning) the birdie (who Quinn has taken to calling "Snarky") is singing softly to herself and my cello and a book of lullabies that I borrowed from the library are calling.

For now, farewell.  I will update, hopefully before Quinn...
